27 May

A grade-separated route across the busy BNSF right-of-way in Devore, San Bernardino has been formally opened to road traffic, allowing the level crossing on the Glen Helen Parkway to be eliminated. With 100 trains on a typical day, considerable benefit to the emergency services and motorists has been realised with the completion of the first phase of the project which has cost USD 31 million. A second phase will increase the number of travel lanes at an estimated cost of USD 28 million. These works will begin in 2017 and be complete in 2019.
