Machynlleth, Wales: Eight user worked and footpath crossings to be eliminated

Welsh Assembly Transport Minister Edwina Hart has announced investment of GBP3m to eliminate eight level crossings of the Cambrian Line between Machynlleth and Newtown. Additional funding from Network Rail means that two road-over-rail bridges, a new river bridge and 2km of new highway will signal the end for the Tyddyn-y-pwll user worked (UW), Rallt UW, Rallt footpath, Pikins UW, Pikins footpath, Ystrad Fawr UW, Ystrad Fawr footpath and Clawdd Coed UW level crossings.
