Long Island, NY: Twice in 24-hours, citation sin both cases

The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) has had its trains collide with vehicles on level crossings twice in 24 hours. The First collision occurred on a level crossing in East Rockaway on March 2nd. Less than 24 hours later a LIRR train collided with a car on a level crossing in Patchogue. Police have confirmed that in both cases motorists in their 60s have received citations for level crossing offences.
