Wakefield, UK: Minibus driver jailed for 12-months

28 Jan

A minibus driver who collided with a lowering barrier at the Station Lane level crossing in Featherstone has been jailed for 12 months and banned from driving for three years after admitting an offence of dangerous driving.

The custodial sentence was imposed as the defendant refused to accept 160 hours unpaid community service, a driving ban and a suspended prison sentence. The minibus driver said that this was because he had already lost his job and was in need of paid employment.
