Romeoville, IL: New station with an at grade pedestrian crossing

Planning for a new station in Romeoville to be served by Chicago rail operator Metra over the Canadian National (CN) right-of-way go back to 2008. Now, with agreement reached that a grade-separated pedestrian access route is not feasible and that an  at grade pedestrian crossing of the CN right-of-way, the project is set to move ahead. The  engineering phase of the project is 80% federally funded as is a significant chunk of the costs of constructing the new station
