Shoreham, UK: Wait at crossing or reopen the subway survey

2 Dec

The Shoreham Society has been surveying rail passengers to establish the level of support for reopening the subway at Shoreham station to the street to save the wait often encountered at the adjacent level crossing. There are concerns that reopening the subway to the street so that non-passengers can cross as if they were using the station as passengers. The estimated cost of the works required is GBP55,000. Train operator Southern is supportive of the proposal. The views of Network Rail are at present unknown.
