Crawley, UK: Pedestrian dies from being struck by a train

An eighteen-year-old student was struck by a train on the Horsham Road manually controlled CCTV equipped level crossing in Crawley, Sussex, with fatal consequences. The fatality, which occurred at about 09.55 on Friday, September 5th, 2014, is being treated as non-suspicious by British Transport Police who are preparing a file for the coroner.

    When they say non-suspicious what does that actually mean? Is that a euphemism for suspected suicide? Or does it mean the person wasn’t pushed on to the tracks? Or an accident that may or may not have factors other than the person just made a mistake eg they walked round the barriers?
