Ainsdale, UK: Level crossing fatality, not suspicious

A woman was killed when she was struck by a train at a level crossing in Ainsdale, near Southport, Merseyside.The fatality occurred a little before 15.00 on August 27th, 2014. British Transport Police have said that the fatality that occurred on the “fisherman’s” user worked and footpath level crossing is being treated as non-suspicious. It is understood that the woman was killed while trying to rescue her dog from the railway track, the dog having run-off and under the gate onto the railway. It is further understood that the dog was also killed.
