Newcastle, NSW: Crossing closure without consultation say traders

Several businesses have raised issues with the proposal to permanently close the Railway Street level crossing in the Wickham district of Newcastle from December 26th, 2014 citing disruption to their businesses. The elimination of the crossing has been triggered by the new railway interchange and planned construction of a light rail system. However, traders are saying that there hasn’t been the necessary consultation and now it is too late to change anything.
