Mantes-la-Jolie, France: 80-year-old motorist says he did not see the signs

An 80-yea-old motorist escaped with minor injuries when the car he was driving was hit by a train on an active level crossing near Mantes-la-Jolie, Yvelines Department, Ile-de-France. The accident occurred during the morning of July 25th, 2014. According to a Police source, the motorist has said that he did not see the signs indicating the presence of the level crossing.

the leading vehicle of the TGV travelling from Le Havre to Marseille sustained considerable damage. As a result, the 350 passengers were evacuated from the train in an operation lasting 90 minutes. Passengers were then transferred to Paris to resume their journey by TGV.
