Saint-Liboire, QC: Man’s suspected intended death kills child too

A father who had lost a custody battle with his estranged wife and who had been ordered to leave the family home was killed along with the one-year-old child at the centre of the battle when the vehicle in which they were sitting was hit by a train.

The evidence from the train driver, who had insufficient time to stop his train; and, other witnesses is that the man drove his vehicle onto the crossing into the path of a train, making no attempt to move his vehicle off the crossing in Saint-Liboire, east of Montreal at about 07.00 on June 2nd, 2014.

Police are treating the death of the adult as an intentional death and that of the child as murder,
