Little Bedwyn, UK: Court action in play over quantum of widower’s claim

The husband of a woman killed on the Fairfield user worked level crossing in Little Bedwyn on May 6th, 2009 is pursuing a claim for damages for more than GBP0.5 million. While Network Rail has admitted that it was at fault, the legal action is being pursued because Network Rail is disputing the quantum of the claim for damages. previously in June 2012, Network Rail was found guilty at Southampton Crown Court of breaching health and safety laws. This action cost Network Rail more than GBP0.355 million as sighting times at the crossing were insufficient.
