Ohio: PUCO approves eight level crossing upgrades

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) has approved eight level crossings as detailed below:
– The Ann Arbor Railroad (AA) will install LED lights at the Erie Street, Albany Street, Summit Street, Erie Street and Chase Street level crossings in the city of Toledo, Lucas County. Funding for these upgrades will be shared between PUCO and AA which will also be responsible for completing the project by March 26th, 2015.
– CSX will install lights and barriers at the Green Road / Township Road 108 level crossing in Seneca County and at the Reitz Road /Township Road 101 level crossing in Wood County.
– Norfolk Southern (NS) will install lights and barriers at the Keystone Street level crossing in the city of Alliance, Stark County.

CSX and NS will be responsible for completing their projects by December 26th, 2014. Funding for these upgrades are federally funded.
