Cradley Heath, UK: Nine week closure of level crossing a disgrace

24 Mar

Community anger at the time it is taking Network Rail to repair the Cradley Heath level crossing closed since it was damaged by a road vehicle on January 13th, 2014 is increasing as several dates for reopening the level crossing have come and gone without any evident progress. Now, Network Rail has said that they expect to have the crossing open to road traffic by the end of March 2014. The reason given for the extended closure is the need to have a new part manufactured. One must ask, why is the part not a stock item.

After ten weeks, Network Rail finally repaired the level crossing which reopened on March 27th, 2014
