Chittagong, Bangladesh: Four killed as train hits bus on crossing

Four women were killed and 15 injured when a train collided with the bus in which they were travelling was hit by a train on a level crossing in the Chandgaon district of Chittagong. The collision on an unmanned level crossing occurred at about 08.00 on March 11th, 2014. The bus driver who survived has been reported as listening to music through headphones at the time of the accident. As a result it is believed that he did not hear the train horn warning that a train was present. It is also believed that the bus, for reasons unknown, had either stopped or was stuck on the level crossing in the seconds before the fatal collision.
