Cradley Heath, UK: Political angst over damaged level crossing

The extended closure of the CCTV equipped manually controlled level crossing adjacent to Cradley Heath railway station has attracted the interest of the Labour Party’s prospective parliamentary candidate for the West Midlands constituency of Halesowen and Rowley Regis has written to Network Rail to ask why the barriers haven’t been replaced more than a week after the barriers were damaged when they were hit by a truck on January 13th, 2014. Network Rail had promised that the repairs would be executed quickly but has yet to explain why this wasn’t the case.
