Perth, Western Australia: Train collides with bus on level crossing

25 Oct

A bus was badly damaged when it was struck by a train on an active level crossing adjacent to the railway station in the Perth suburb of Maddington. The accident which occurred at about 14.30 on October 23rd, 2014, would have had more serious consequences had been carrying passengers as the ear-end of the bus was badly damaged.

The accident occurred at an automatic half barrier crossing at which the booms when lowered completely cross two lanes of traffic flowing each way with a substantial and lengthy median dividing the carriageways.
