Nottingham, United Kingdom: Judge blasts absent motorist

A motorist who drove her van under lowering level crossing barriers has been told in absentia by a District Judge that her behaviour was bordering on the dangerous and that she had to face the possibility of being disqualified from driving.

This week’s hearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court heard the prosecution case and was adjourned until November 4th, 2013 at which point the defendant will be given another chance to give her explanation of what happened.

The incident in question was at the Bulwell Forest level crossing near Nottingham on July 6th, 2013 was observed by a British Transport Police Officers. This has led to the woman facing a charge of driving without due care and attention.
