United States: Safety IDEA Program deadline nears

The Safety IDEA Program is accepting new proposals for innovative approaches to improve railway safety or performance. The 2013 deadline for submitting proposals is September 16th,2013. This deadline may be extended, upon request. Proposal submission, review, and contract award cycles occur annually, and the next (2014) deadline for proposals will be mid-September, 2014.

This Programme is funded by the Federal Railroad Administration. The Programme is interested in proposals in a variety of areas in railway systems: safety, security, and environment; human factors; rolling stock and components; track and structures; track/train interaction; level crossings; hazardous materials transportation; and train occupant protection.
