Witham, United Kingdom: Plans for a GBP 2.3 million bridleway bridge submitted

16 Jul

Network Rail has submitted plans for a GBP 2.3 million bridleway bridge to replace the Motts Lane level crossing in Witham, Essex, These plans follow-on from an attempt in 2012 to extinguish the bridleway rights and build a replacement footbridge being rejected. The crossing was the location of a fatal accident in January 2013 and has for a long time been a thorn in the side of Network Rail and predecessor rail infrastructure managers.
