Tallington, United Kingdom: Cautious optimism that grade-separation will prevail

There is cautious optimism in Tallington, Stamford, Lincolnshire, that the long-cherished dream – 60 years – of a grade-separated replacement for the heavily used A1175 level crossing of the very busy East Coast Main Line will happen. The key questions now relate to the detail of the design and when will the bridge be built.

Network Rail is continuing to work with Lincolnshire County Council, as the highways authority for the A1175, and has now appointed a project sponsor to supervise the nascent scheme within the context of the company’s national level crossing closure programme.
