Italy: Plan to address rise in level crossing accidents

RFI, the Italian nation railway infrastructure manager, plans to counter the 25% rise in road vehicle related level crossing accidents sustained over the past three years. RFI has proposed an EUR35 million investment in measures to reduce road traffic speeds at many of the country’s 4,500 level crossings.
